Mr. Philpott is a dedicated music educator and trumpet player based in San Antonio, TX. His musical journey began in sixth grade in El Paso, TX, where he first picked up a cornet before transitioning to trumpet. His passion and talent led him to earn a scholarship to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. While at GCU, he served as principal trumpet in the Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds, played lead trumpet in the Thunder Big Band, and held leadership roles as a student conductor and trumpet section leader for the award-winning Thundering Heard Pep Band. He will earn his Master of Music in Music Education from Tarleton State University in August 2025.
Most recently, Mr. Philpott taught Pre-K through 5th-grade general music and actively contributed to campus arts integration through the CULTIVAR grant, in partnership with Texas A&M San Antonio. In this role, he supported culturally relevant, arts-integrated instruction designed to strengthen student identity and academic engagement.
Now seeking his next opportunity in music or education, Mr. Philpott remains committed to fostering creativity, building community through the arts, and bringing high-quality, inclusive instruction to every student he serves. He continues to perform with the San Antonio Community Wind Ensemble periodically and is actively involved in professional development and music education advocacy.
