Mr. Philpott is a music educator currently located in San Antonio, TX. His musical career began in sixth grade in El Paso, TX, when he first picked up a cornet and eventually transitioned to a trumpet. After attending high school and further honing his skills, he received a scholarship offer to attend Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. While at GCU, Mr. Philpott had the opportunity to play principal trumpet in the wind ensemble and chamber wind ensemble, lead trumpet in the Thunder Big Band, and was a student conductor and trumpet section leader for the award-winning Thundering Heard Pep Band. Mr. Philpott teaches PK3 - 5th Grade General Music at Neil Armstrong Elementary School in South San Antonio ISD. In partnership with Texas A&M San Antonio, he works with the CULTIVAR grant to help provide an arts-integrated approach to education and culturally relevant instruction to help bolster cultural and community identity. Mr. Philpott currently performs with the San Antonio Community Wind Ensemble.
